Call it compassionate capitalism. The company on top of the good karma pile is TOMS Shoes, the Northeastern U.S. based footwear brand that’s out to change the planet one step at a time.

There’s no arguing about the business model behind the brand and its charity loving, shoe distributing practices. For the uninformed,TOMS gives away a free pair of shoes for every pair sold. In 2007, one shoe drop in South Africa distributed 50,000 pairs of shoes.

The drop left TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie thinking about taking giving to the next level. This summer, June 7th to be exact judging by the teaser video TOMS sent us, Mycoskie is planning to add another layer to the company’s One For One model. What could it be? The video offers some clues but we’re not gonna speculate. Check ’em out above and on the next page.
