Carey, much like the millions of fans that loved soulful singer, struggled to hold back tears as she continued to describe the legacy and voice that was Whitney Houston.
Monica, Brandy and Whitney’s brother Gary hit the stage soon after and performed a medley of gospel tunes and Houston’s classic hits.
But when the Queen’s mother, Cissy Houston, hit the stage, audience members just couldn’t hold back - including a deeply moved Soulja Boy and Beyonce, who were both tearing up from the emotional performances.

Chaka Khan closed out the amazing tribute, performing “I’m Every Woman," a track Whitney later covered.
Another legend, too soon gone… but never forgotten.
