Bieber's girl may be in a little bit of legal trouble for allegedly ripping off the melody of a song.

According to reports, Selena Gomez has been hit with a $1 million lawsuit claiming one of her hit songs is the work of pure plagiarism.

The song in question is Selena's "A Year Without Rain" which the band Luce claims is an exact copy from their 2005 song, "Buy A Dog."

The band is suing Selena, and her co-writers Lindy Robbins and Toby Gad.

While the lyrics in the songs are far from identical, the lawsuit is claiming that the melody is almost identical.

According to the Courthouse News Service:

"The melodies in the chorus of both songs are virtually identical," and that the tune "was a No. 1 record on several radio stations around the United States, including WRLT in Nashville and KFOG in San Francisco, at both of which it was among the 10 most played records for the entire year of 2005."

This seems like a sticky situation for the Disney star, but as the saying goes, "more money, more problems."

Check out both of the songs below, and get the full legal breakdown of the case here. Do you think the songs sound identical?
