Last week we lost one third of hip-hop’s classic rap ensemble the Beastie Boys – Adam “MCA” Yauch lost his battle with cancer.

But thanks to his surviving catalogue of amazing music, fans, and even those less familiar with the emcee, can go out and enjoy his music for years to come.

And that’s exactly what they did.

Billboard reports that Beastie Boys album sales increased by 1,235 percent since last week’s unfortunate news. License to Ill, the trio’s debut album, jumped to number 18 on the Billboard Top 20 charts, moving over 19,000 units alone. And digital downloads increased to 151,000 from 14,000.

In total, the Beastie Boys albums sold 55,000 units, up from 4,000 last week.

It’s been a crazy seven days since the news hit the web, but thanks to technology we’re able to re-live some of the Beastie Boys’ best music.

Rest In Peace, Adam Yauch. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
