The 10 Most Intense Hip-Pop Beefs In The Past 10 Years (LIST)

What's beef?

Well, if you could ask late great rapper Notorious B.I.G. he would have said:

"Beef is when you need two gats to go to sleep/ Beef is when your moms ain't safe up in the streets/Beef is when I see you/Guaranteed to be an ICU."

Thankfully, the most intense hip-pop beefs in the past 10 years didn't end with anyone in the ICU, but they did end in a few ruined careers, bruised egos, and surprisingly, in court.

DETAILS: OH HELL NAH! Watch Nas' Plot To Hang Jay-Z At Hot 97's Summer Jam!

The most intense hip-hop beed in the last decade has to go to two of the best rappers to ever do it- Jay-Z and Nas

Jay and Nas' beef heated up with Jay-Z dropped the "Takeover" on the Blueprint. The diss track was a great surprise to Queensbridge rapper, but it was all good because Nas had some lyrical napalm up his sleeve.

Nas dropped "Ether" and New York City had to pick a side.

Hip-Hop fans had to decide who won the battle, but just as people were leaning towards Nas' "Ether," Jay-Z dropped "Super Ugly."

And then things got confusing. Who was the best?

Was it Queens rapper Nas? Or was it Brooklyn's finest Jay-Z?

Jay-Z and Nas' beef is still one of the most talked about hip-hop beefs, and the verdict is still out on who won the war.

But yesterday, the 'net was shocked when a behind the scenes video of Nas planning on "hanging Jay-Z" at Hot 97's Summer Jam was posted on all the blogs.

Hip-Hop fans probably didn't realize at the time, but Nas was not playing with Jay-Z and was totally ready to take his beef to a whole new level.

Despite Nas' feelings, Hot 97 decided to draw the line and wouldn't let Nas lynch Jay-Z during their concert. Nas wasn't a happy camper and decided to skip out on the show entirely, but some 10 years later, we think Nas is probably glad he didn't lynch Jay on stage.
