Jay-Z To Score New "Annie" Movie Starring Willow Smith (DETAILS)

Jay-Z is a hip-hop icon. But at one time, Hov was just another street rapper trying to get on. He was already two albums deep when he dropped the Annie-sampling classic single that changed his career forever: "Hard Knock Life."

“Hard Knock Life” dropped in 1998; it’s now 2012 and Hov is going back to his roots.

According to Bust, Jay-Z will be in charge of the soundtrack for the upcoming Annie remake, which will star Roc Nation wonder child Willow Smith. Jay is expected to be writing new musical tracks for the soundtrack.

As for the movie, proud papa of Willow, Will Smith, will be producing the film, which will take place in modern New York. We're not sure which we're more excited for — the movie or the soundtrack.
