It's not everyday that Jay-Z shows up to give a surprise performance.

It happened yesterday though during YouTube's Upfront Presentation for the site’s advertisers, which was held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Jay came out on stage rocking a blazer and the brand new logo of the Brooklyn Nets team he has stake in. The rapper did his smash hit “Empire State of Mind,” minus the track’s co-star, Alicia Keys.

Jay's surprise performance was the closing act of an event that included shows from Neon Trees, Flo Rida and Miri Ben-Ari.
