John Legend takes it home with this one.
NEW MUSIC: John Legend “The Beginning!”
The Grammy-award winning singer covers Frank Sinatra‘s “The House I Live In” for the title track to a Eugene Jarecki-directed documentary that focuses on America’s war on drugs – a film whose executive producers include Danny Glover, Brad Pitt, our very own Russell Simmons, and John Legend himself.
In “The House I Live In” music video, you see footage of several different inmates, and their livelihood behind the confines of prison meshed with facts like:
“Over 20 million Americans have a family member behind bars.”
NEW MUSIC: John Legend & Rick Ross “Who Do We Think We Are!”
And it’s disconcerting to know that drugs are responsible for such a statistic.
“The House I Live In” will have its broadcast debut tonight on PBS.
