Kanye West took over New York City’s Meatpacking District with his Yeezus listening party last night. 

Located at an open dock behind Milk Studios, Kanye West invited some of the most influential movers and shakers in the music industry to listen to his highly anticipated album, Yeezus

Kanye kicked off his listening session with a brief explanation about the title of his album, the marketing strategy, and his inspiration. 

On His Yeezus Album Title: 

“I wanna explain something about the title Yeezus, simply put West was my slave name and Yeezus is my god name.” 

On His Marketing Strategy & Promotion Of Yeezus:

“I gotta new strategy…it’s called no strategy. And I gotta way to sell more music, it’s called make better music.”  

On What The Yeezus Album Is About: 

“This album is about giving…no f*cks at all.”

After playing about nine tracks off the album, Kanye explained that there were a few more tracks he was saving, one of which features Chief Keef and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. 

Yes, Chief Keef and Justin Vernon on the same song. 

He also mentioned he had another song featuring a guest appearance by Chicago rapper King Louie. 

From what we here at GlobalGrind got to hear last night, Kanye’s Yeezus album is a must-buy.
