Posted May 22, 2012 by Rebecca Francois for Global Grind Staff

Last week, Lupe Fiasco dropped the cover art to his latest track “Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)” and today, we get to hear the final product!

On the “Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)” sample, Lu goes in bar for bar, retreating back to the conscious flow we all grew to know and love.

Lupe raps:

“Straight hair, high heels and a handbag / crucifixes. Racism and a land grab / Katrin, FEMA trailer, human body sandbags / a peace sign and a pants sag a money toss cause a 9 stripper mad dash.”

“Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)” is prime for summertime BBQ playlists, yet still carries major knowledge.

It's the first single release off the Chicago rapper's upcoming studio album Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album.
