Seattle rapper Macklemore and his producer Ryan Lewis had an amazing year last with their acclaimed independent album, The Heist, which debuted at number two on the charts with no major label backing.
The second single off The Heist, "Thrift Shop," sold a whopping 304,000 copies this week, taking the duo's sales of "Thrift Shop" to 1.1 million.
Macklemore first burst on the national music scene when he appeared on XXL's Freshmen Class.
Since then, the Seattle native has been tearing up the 'net with meaningful tracks like "Same Love" and "The Town."
