While the lyrics on Maroon 5's version of the legendary 1986 single are pretty much identical, the music is entirely different. While Prince's song has that heavily computerized '80s sound, Maroon 5's version has a more modern, bluesy sound to it.
The music may be different, but Maroon 5 matches Prince’s epicness on the song. Maroon 5's updated track is north of seven minutes, and it contains guitar solos, a blaring saxophone and the band's lead singer, our boy Adam Levine, doing his best wailing Prince impersonation.
Dope stuff. If you're a fan of Prince or Maroon 5, then you need to check this out.
