Miley Cyrus has such a party girl attitude that “We Can’t Stop” seems like a record tailor made just for her.

But alas, according to Mike Will – who produced the track – the lead single off Miley’s forthcoming album was originally intended for another pop star. And by another pop star, we mean Rihanna.

“It was kind of crazy ’cause … when I originally worked on ‘We Can’t Stop,’ we had did it for Rihanna,” the producer told MTV News. “The idea was more towards Rihanna. And then Rihanna, she heard ‘Pour It Up,’ and then she got on ‘Pour It Up’ right away. And she didn’t even hear ‘We Can’t Stop.’ So then we finished up the record.”

But Mike still thinks Miley “nailed the record” and made it her own.

Maybe we’ll get a Mike Will-produced Miley Cyrus and Rihanna track one of these days? Who knows?
