MTV’s annual “Hottest MC” nominees list has officially been announced, and we must say, it’s a little ehhhh.
NEW MUSIC: Jay-Z & Blue Ivy Carter “Glory”
MTV released the names of 25 candidates in the running to claim the title as the “Hottest MC Of 2011.” The list will eventually be cut down to top 10 rappers in the game, but a roundtable discussion will be held to crown the hottest rapper in the game.
Of course the list of nominees includes hip-hop heavyweights like Jay-Z, Kanye, Nas, Rick Ross, but it also features rappers who are under the radar like Red Cafe, Maino, and Lloyd Banks.

It definitely seems like MTV missed a few rappers like Andre 3000 and J.Cole. We’re going to say that some of these rappers on the list have us scratching our heads, but hey, we can’t agree with everything.
The “Hottest MC” special will air on MTV2 Sunday, February 19 at 10:30 p.m. EST.
