Nicki instantly caught flack from the Internet about her bars. One of the people who isn’t criticizing the rapper, however, is musical peer Ne-Yo

Ne-Yo is on full promotional mode, pushing his upcoming R.E.D. album, which is an acronym Realizing Every Dream. Rolling Stone caught up with the singer before the VMAs yesterday and Ne-Yo talked about the album’s guest appearances. According to the singer, Diddy, Stargate and No I.D. all contributed to the album.

Ne-Yo also mentioned that he wanted to work with Nicki Minaj. RS then asked Ne-Yo about Nicki’s controversial bars. The singer, who is a Obama supporter, said:

“Politics is politics. Music is a whole ‘nother thing. We don’t have to agree on politics to do a great song together…Or possibly have wild, butt-naked sex.”

Look Republicans, Ne-Yo has mad love for ya!
