2012 MTV VMAs: One Direction Invades The Staples Center With "One Thing" (VIDEO)

The latest step in One Direction’s invasion of America is complete.

The five bandmates just shut the stage down at the VMAs, performing the hit single “One Thing,” off their super successful debut album, Up All Night.

While some performers like to have extravagant stage shows when they perform at the VMAs, the boys from the UK kept things a little simpler, going to the crowd and giving a great show in front of their endearing fans.

It has already been a huge night for One Direction. The group won awards for Best Pop Video, Most Share-Worthy Video and Best New Artist.
