Django Unchained is one of the most anticipated films of the holiday season, but what’s almost as interesting as the movie about a slave turned bounty hunter is its soundtrack.

NEW MUSIC: Rick Ross “100 Black Coffins”

Last week, Rick Ross dropped the soundtrack’s first single “100 Black Coffins.”

There were rumors of a possible Frank Ocean track that was to be featured on the soundtrack, but Quentin Tarantino made the executive decision to give the track the axe.

The award-winning director released a statement to FUSE explaining why he cut Frank’s song from the soundtrack stating:

“Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they’ll realize it then.”

We completely respect Quentin’s decision. Sometimes one must possess the insight to say no.

Django Unchained is set to hit movie theaters across the country on Christmas Day.
