After so much controversy and media scrutiny, Rick Ross has finally apologized for his date rape lyric featured on Atlanta rapper Rocko’s new track “U.O.E.N.O.”

Last week, Rick Ross stopped by a local radio station to address the controversy surrounding his implication of rape.

“Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it, I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it,” raps Ross.

During the interview, Rick Ross stated:

“I want to make sure this is clear. That woman is the most precious gift known to man. It was a misunderstanding with a lyric. A misinterpretation where the term rape wasn’t used. I would never use the term rape in my records. And, as far as my camp, hip-hop don’t condone that, streets don’t condone that, nobody condones that. So I just wanted to reach out to all the queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that had been reaching out to me with the misunderstanding. We don’t condone rape and I’m not with that.”

For many, Rick Ross’ statement didn’t seem apologetic and even a few of Rick Ross’ hip-hop peers have urged him to make a public apology.

After much pressure, Rick Ross finally got on Twitter to apologize for the lyric that he says people “interpreted” as a rape lyric.
