Frank Ocean isn't the only one that's out of the closet. There's seven up-and-coming artists who are so open, they're "changing the face - and - sound of rap."
For their October issue, Details Magazine put together a dope photo portfolio of seven gay rappers from Mykki Blanco (26) to Big Dipper (27), and it's no surprise why these individuals are being profiled. They bask in their sexuality with flamboyance.
And even though it may seem a little bizarre for all these rappers who are homosexual to try and make some noise in an industry that is all about hyper-masculinity, it's something that hip-hop has been unknowingly prepared for, for quite some time now.
"The fans are more tolerant," says the rap impresario Russell Simmons. "A catalyst with courage like Frank Ocean making public statements like that can flourish."
Just like Frank Ocean, these rappers are definitely making a public statement just by being themselves.
