On The Game's upcoming album, the Compton-bred rapper uses a ton of religious imagery. This includes everything from the cover art, which features Jesus wearing a Jesus piece, to song titles like "Church,” Pray" and "Heaven's Arms."
MUSIC: The Game, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Jeremih & Fabolous "All That (Lady)"
All those religious images started with the song you see above, the album's title track "Jesus Piece," which features Common spitting a righteous verse and a hook from Kanye West.
MUSIC: The Game, Kanye West, Trae Tha Truth, Paul Wall & Slim Thug "Rollin"
Over a gospel-sounding beat from Boi-1da, The Game mixes his usual introspective lyrics and name-dropping, when he spits rhymes like:
"Tell them pray for me. It was God that brought Dre to me, even brought the n*gga Kanye for me. Blessed. But the n*gga shot Big, made a n*gga feel ashamed of the city that he lived."
This is a heater right here.
Look out for The Game's new album, Jesus Piece, which drops on the 11th.
