What The Tweet?: Breaking Down Twitter Beefs

Just when we thought it was over, it looks like Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim are back at each other's throats, thanks to Twitter. Most people celebrate the social micro-blogging convention, but we've noticed that Twitter has been the source of a lot beef in the hip-pop community.

From Lil' Kim's recent rant regarding a possible tweet that the pint-size diva accuses Minaj of deleting, or the classic case of misinterpreted jokes a la Jim Jones vs. Fabolous, here's our favorite examples of a Twit-attack.

There have been many Twitter spats between these two ladies. The most notable would have to be Nicki's response to Kim's "Black Friday" sales. Kim's mixtape allegedly sold 113,000 copies in 28 hours and, of course, the rapstress took to Twitter to celebrate, but there was a hitch. Paypal reportedly couldn't handle the traffic. “Sorry 4 the link issue too many hits shut the paypal system DOWN! LOL,” Kim tweeted. Nicki responded to Kim's tweets with, "Bwaahhhhahhahahahahahahhahahhhaaahhahahhhaha!!! *lifeless* *leaves on stretcher* *cant go on*.” In the end (of this particular battle), Kim chose to clarify that her back and forth with Minaj wasn't really beef. “#twitterbeef This is not beef," Kim tweeted. "Real beef is when someone gets shot 5 minutes later. CHILD PLEASE!!! #toomanytwittergangstas #teamlilkim LEGO.”
