Over the last 25 years, the emergence of the female rapper has been a polarizing issue in hip-hop.

Having to demand to roll with “the big dogs” and keep up with “the boys,” many female rappers have felt the pressure to bring the heat and compete in the male-dominated sport called rapping.

But more polarizing than the female rapper is the emergence of something many people never thought they’d see in the short amount of time hip-hop has been thriving – the white female rapper.

What’s even more mind-boggling for some are that the white female rappers emerging in the past year actually have a fighting chance to become megastars.

The female rapper with the most potential to become an international superstar would probably be Australian rapper Iggy Azalea

Coming to America when she was merely 16-years-old, Iggy Azalea had hip-hop and a rap career on her mind. Five years later, Iggy Azalea made XXL’s highly coveted Freshmen Class issue as the only female rapper to ever do so, and the fact that she’s a white immigrant makes her achievement even more noteworthy.

The lane for white female rappers hasn’t quite been cleared, but hip-hop is getting there.

GlobalGrind felt the urge to give these young women a platform to live on, so we rounded up 10 white female rappers, some of them good, some of them not so good, but nonetheless, they all consider themselves rappers.
