In the aftermath of the death of Osama bin Laden, a faction of the African al-Qaeda branch has made threats to President Obama’s step-grandmother living in Kenya.
Kenyan police told ABC News they are patrolling around the clock after Al Shabaab, the Somalia-based branch of al-Qaeda, threatened the life of Sarah Obama.
Al Shabaab is one of many radical organizations who are reacting to the death of their leader, Bin laden. Al Shabaab is known in the Middle East for fighting in Somalia for years against the Western-backed government. Al Shabaab continues to terrorize residents and U.S. officials say they are the greatest threat coming out of the Middle Eastern Arabian Peninsula.
