In what started out as a small group of students who started to gather at the fence on the north side of the White House, quickly turned into a sea of people, and later turned into a huge party. Cheerleaders were thrown in the sky, young professionals popped bottles and a country rejoiced over the death of the biggest villain this generation has ever known, Osama Bin Laden.

The group pose for photographs, chanting ‘U.S.A.! U.S.A.!’ and singing the Star Spangled Banner while waving the US flag. President Barack Obama announced the death of Osama Bin Laden during a late evening statement to the press in the East Room of the White House. Bin Laden has reportedly been killed just outside of Islamabad, Pakistan, almost a decade after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and his body is in possession of the United States. That is indeed reasons enough to party.

After the break, more pics of the celebration.
