Earlier today, AK-47 shell casings were found at the scene of a teen boy's death.
Xavier Granville, a 17 year old, had been hanging out with some friends on Beach 15th Street near Heyson Road in Far Rockaway, Queens after leaving a party when two men in ski masks approached them and began firing into the group at about 12:30 A.M.
CBS News reports:
A neighbor, Melissa, was just trying to go to work. But she couldn’t get out the front door of her building.
“I was coming out the elevator and I saw a trail of blood, and then when I got to the front door I saw all the police tape. I didn’t know what was going on, and then I came outside, I see all the cops, and from what I’m hearing, somebody got killed,” she said.
Granville was hit in the head and died shortly after wounded.
Investigators believe Granville may have been part of a gang, but it was not immediately clear what sparked the violence.
No arrest have been made.
Our prayers and condolences are with the Granville family.
