Gloria and Herman were married in the spring of 1968 after she graduated college.

Gloria Is A Lady Wolverine!
Gloria Cain was born and raised in Atlanta and graduated from the historical black college Morris Brown in 1968. She has worked as a teacher and a librarian. Morris Brown’s mascot is the Wolverine.

Gloria wasn’t too keen on the idea of Herman running for President. As Cain puts it:
“Gloria didn’t immediately jump up and down and cheer. In fact she was terrified! Scared to death!” he wrote. “That was because of the widely held perception of what it’s like to be in politics—of what it can do to your family and to you, the candidate.”

Shotgun Wedding:
One month after graduating college Herman and Gloria were married. Cain said:
“One month after she graduated from college, I swept her off her feet — we knew each other — and we got married a month later.”

The Cain Kids:
Gloria and Herman have two children, Melanie Cain, born around 1972 and Vincent Cain, born around 1978, they also have two grandchildren.
Cain once said:
“Two was actually the right number of children for us. When two people get married, two equations of happiness are added together. If they match perfectly, which is very rare, you get a marriage bonus, as in ‘two plus two equals five.'”
