One of the most heated movements in the 1990s were undoubtedly the LA riots.
The riots followed a verdict by the state of California that held all police officers involved in the beating of Rodney King not guilty.
Thousands of Los Angeles residents took to the streets expressing their anger and resent for the verdict.
During the riots people committed theft, arson, assault, and murder.
It wasn't until after 6 days that the United States military and National Guard was able to restore order. The crimes committed resulted in over 2,000 injuries and 53 deaths.
The case was eventually investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice but the effort was too late.
It was announced today that Rodney was found dead today at 5:25 AM in a Rialito, California swimming pool. In honor of his legacy, we are revisitng the L.A. Riots that followed his beating.
