To recap what’s been happening, Lowe’s ad removal came after the Florida Family Association encouraged members to email the program’s advertisers. The show premiered last month and depicts the lives of five families from Dearborn, Mich., a Detroit suburb with a large Muslim and Arab-American population.

The Florida group sent three emails to its members, asking them to petition Lowe’s to pull its advertising. It’s website was updated to say that “supporters’ emails to advertisers make a difference.”

Now that Lowe’s advertising spots have officially been sold, Russell tweeted:

Please join us in our campaign against Lowe’s and any other advertiser who pulls their money from “All-American Muslims,” because the portrayal is “positive.”
