Last night, President Barack Obama shut it down at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.

VIDEO: President Barack Obama Speaks At The Democratic National Convention

Through the verbatim and quotable sound bites, he laid out a number of important initiatives he’d implement over the next four years to rebuild our economy and the middle class.

Included in these initiatives is his plan to cut college tuition to make it easier for kids to go to college, create jobs and decrease our deficit. Overall, Obama let the nation know he has a plan for America, a plan that will build us up and have direct effects on our generation.

This election is about choice he said, and it will be our responsibility to choose the direction of our future come November.

But if we choose to stand behind him, this is what Obama promises to do:

Create 1 million manufacturing jobs over the next four years:

We can give more tax breaks to corporations that ship jobs overseas, or we can start rewarding companies that open new plants and train new workers and create new jobs here, in the United States of America. We can help big factories and small businesses double their exports, and if we choose this path, we can create a million new manufacturing jobs in the next four years.

Cut America’s dependency on foreign oil and create jobs in natural gas:

If you choose this path we can cut our oil imports in half by 2020 and support more than 600,000 new jobs in natural gas alone. And yes, my plan will continue to reduce the carbon pollution that is heating our planet – because climate change is not a hoax.

Cut the surge of college tuition in half:

Help us work with colleges and universities to cut in half the growth of tuition costs over the next ten years. We can meet that goal together. You can choose that future for America.

End overseas wars and rebuild the economy:

My opponent said it was “tragic” to end the war in Iraq, and he won’t tell us how he’ll end the war in Afghanistan. I have, and I will. And while my opponent would spend more money on military hardware that our Joint Chiefs don’t even want, I’ll use the money we’re no longer spending on war to pay down our debt and put more people back to work – rebuilding roads and bridges; schools and runways. After two wars that have cost us thousands of lives and over a trillion dollars, it’s time to do some nation-building right here at home.

Obama has a vision for America, one that invests in education and clean energy, stimulates jobs and offers kids more opportunities through higher education.

Now it’s up to us to decide if that’s the America we want to see for ourselves. We believe it is. Four More Years!
