Hugh & Tony Rodham:
To add to President Clinton's family issues, his two brother-in-laws may have been a worse problem than Clinton's biological brother Roger. The duo were power hungry fools who attempted to use their sister's status in order to become rich.
In 1999, Hugh, a former Florida public defender, and Tony, whose resume included work as a private eye and repo man, joined on a $118 million business plan to process and import hazelnuts from the Republic of Georgia. However; their key connection was a political rival of Georgia's President, who was an American ally. Bill and Hillary then had to work with National Security Advisor Sandy Berger to talk the brothers out of their business venture.
Then in 2001, when Bill Clinton's second presidential term was coming to an end, he issued a series of pardons. Hugh pocketed $400,000 for providing legal help, acquiring the pardon. Although this was technically legal, it definitely seemed shady and embarrassing for the Clinton family when the story broke.
