Before the Baltimore Ravens walked away as world champions, Joe Flacco was named the game’s Most Valuable Player and Ray Lewis ended his 17-year career on a major high, Super Bowl XLVII was full of shocking (and entertaining) moments that made it one of the best in a long time.

BLOG: Super Bowl Champ Brendon Ayanbadejo: “Not A Fight For Gay Rights, A Fight For Human Rights!”

The game ended 34-31, but the score wasn’t the only nail-biting, anxiety-inducing, emotional and entertaining moment of the Super Bowl. There was Beyonce’s tight leather number and a performance that will surely go down in history. There was the brawl on the field, just minutes into the game. And there were the crazy football moves that made this game a historic one.

Don’t believe us, just watch…and enjoy some of Super Bowl 2013’s best moments.

Sandy Hook Choir Sings With JHud

To kick off the Super Bowl, the Sandy Hook Elementary School Choir sang a touching rendition of “America the Beautiful” with powerhouse Jennifer Hudson. Needless to say, it was heartwrenching…and made even the toughest of football players shed a tear in the emotional moment.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

What’s a football game without a little scuffle? Super Bowl XLVII was no different. When a pass attempt to Randy Moss sailed high and was intercepted by star safety Ed Reed, tempers flared and things got a little heated.

Destiny’s Child Reunites!

“Kelly, can you handle this? Michelle, can you handle this? Beyoncé, can you handle this? I don’t think they can handle this!”

The trio united last night in a highly-anticipated reunion and no…I don’t think anybody could handle it when Michelle and Kelly literally popped out on stage during Beyonce’s halftime show. It was “Bootylicious” and magical and just what the doctor ordered…I mean, the fans.

Turn On The Lights & Don’t Call It A Comeback!

When the power went out in the 73,000-person stadium right after Beyonce’s show-stopping performance, the Baltimore Ravens were leading the San Francisco 49ers 28-6. But 34 minutes later, when the lights cut back on, the 49ers upped the ante in one of the greatest comebacks ever (besides Destiny’s Child). They scored two straight touchdowns…but in the end it didn’t matter. They lost, 34-31.

“I Was Running!”

In the third quarter, Jacoby Jones made history when he returned the second-half kickoff 108 yards, tying the longest runback in NFL history. The sprint took the unexpected hero just 11 seconds…faster than this guy in the Super Bowl Sketchers commercial. That brought Baltimore 28-6…no doubt bolstering them in their journey to beat the 49ers.

Flacco’s Football Game!

This was just a first for the game’s MVP, who completed 22 of 32 passes and threw for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns. Watch Joe Flacco work…

Jacoby Strikes Again…And Celebrates With Moves That Rival Beyonce’s

At 21-3, wide receiver Jacoby Jones hauled in a 56-yard score with less than two minutes to go in the first half. And the little dance he did at the end will make this worth watching if football isn’t your thing. This…I promise you.

Alicia Key’s Makes History With National Anthem

Depending on who you ask, Alicia Key’s majestic and calculated rendition of the National Anthem was either perfect or too long for their taste. But her drawn-out (and beautiful I might add) version was actually so long that it made history. It clocked in at 156.4 seconds (or two minutes and some change). It broke the 1994 record, set by Natalie Cole’s 152-second performance.

Beyonce Won The Super Bowl

The stage was in the shape of her face. There was fire and smoke and graphics…Michelle and Kelly joined her on stage…and she didn’t lip-synch. And after it was all done, the star released a video announcing her world tour. Who run the world? Beyonce, of course.

The Baltimore Ravens Become World Champions

Football for almost five hours. A close game. A Harbaugh Bro’ rivalry. A storybook ending for linebacker Ray Lewis. The second-ever Super Bowl win. The Ravens come out on top. And celebrate with the cutest confetti snow angel in history. Whew! What a night. Congratulations to the Dirty Birds!
