Shocking Video Exposes Butterball Turkey Abuse (VIDEO)

Animal welfare advocacy group Mercy for Animals has released a gruesome video exposing the abuse that turkeys suffer at the hands of Butterball workers.

The video come days before the Thanksgiving holiday when millions of turkeys will be devoured. 30 percent of all Thanksgiving turkeys will be produced by Butterball.

In the black and white video, helpless turkeys are seen being thrown and kicked while sick birds are ignored at several Butterball plants in North Carolina. 

Mercy for Animals released another video exposing Butterball back in December 2011. The group is encouraging people to opt for a vegetarian turkey instead of an actual bird on Thanksgiving or by a turkey that was raised more humanely from a smaller farm.
