As the public pressure mounted on police to release more evidence surrounding the Chavis Carter shooting, the Jonesboro, Ark. police department finally released the dashboard camera video last night. Along with the video were the 911 audio recordings taken the night of the shooting, and video and audio interviews with witnesses.

In the video we see Chavis being taken out of the white pickup truck after being pulled over with the two other men. He is then placed under arrest and put in the back of the patrol car – but we never see the moment the gun goes off.

Yesterday it was revealed that the FBI joined the investigation into the bizarre shooting death of the 21-year-old.

According to the Associated Press, the Justice Department issued a statement, saying it is:

“At a stage of the investigation where certain elements can be released without compromising the integrity of the remaining process.”

As of now, Jonesboro police and the Justice Department are waiting for the complete autopsy report, as well as complete forensics and toxicology results from the State Crime Lab.
