At midnight last night, a video filmed on June 2nd was released, revealing for the first time the faces and voices of the three victims of Ariel Castro.

Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, who were set free months ago after being held captive for a decade, are all healthy smiles as they thank the Cleveland community for their support.

“Amanda, Gina and Michelle wanted to say thank you to people from Cleveland and across the world, now that two months have passed,” said Kathy Joseph, the attorney for Knight. “People are recognizing them now as they go about in public, so they decided to put voices and faces to their heartfelt messages.

Cleveland Council members set up a bank account called the Courage Fund for the girls, which would allow them to transition as smoothly as possible into normal life. The fund, which is now at $1.05 million, was built from generous community members, concerts, companies, and groups.

Berry expresses her gratitude, “Everyone who has been there to support us has been a blessing.”

Ariel Castro could be facing the death penalty for kidnapping, aggravated murder, and beatings and rape.
