It was only a month ago when legendary soul singer Etta James was knocking on heaven’s door, but yesterday the “At Last” singer was sent home after spending two weeks in a Los Angeles hospital.

James, who has been battling terminal leukemia and dementia, landed in the hospital after she had trouble breathing, but today friend and manager Lupe de Leon said that James' blood pressure stabilized and her breathing improved last week, allowing for her release.

De Leon says that James is back home now with her husband of 41 years, Artis Mills, and other family members. 

James has been receiving care at her Riverside County home for some time now.
