Earlier today, GlobalGrind's Editor-In-Chief Michael Skolnik broke the story that Fox News Host Sean Hannity offered to pay for the legal defense fund for George Zimmerman, the man accused of shooting and killing unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin on February 26th.
Now, Fox News has come to the defense of their on-air host through a spokesperson.
A Fox News Corporation spokesperson told Mediabistro:
“Sean Hannity has never offered to pay any legal fees or any fee associated with George Zimmerman.”
Yesterday, the Special Prosecutor in the George Zimmerman case released 149 jail house phone calls that Mr. Zimmerman made while awaiting his bond hearing.
In one call by Zimmerman, he explains that an “SH” has offered money for his defense fund, and later explains to his friend how to reach him.
So now we have two sides of the story, who do you believe?
Back in April, Hannity went on his program and admitted to speaking with Zimmerman over the phone. Here is Hannity's explanation on how the call went down:
"Now, before we continue tonight, I want to set the record straight about a couple of things. Now, for a few weeks we have been pursuing an interview with Mr. Zimmerman to give him a chance to tell his side of the story. Now, yesterday, I was contacted by an individual that we in fact believe was George Zimmerman. He reached out to me, we spoke on the phone about his case and I agreed not to report on the contents of that conversation. That’s it."
So who do you believe, Fox News or George Zimmerman?
