Academy Award winning actor Gene Hackman was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Key West, Florida.

According to TMZ, the French Connection star was airlifted to an area hospital where he has been listed in stable condition.

As Reported By TMZ:

81-year-old Hackman was airlifted from Key West to a trauma hospital in Miami. We're told Hackman suffered injuries to his head and body.We're told the accident took place around 3:00 PM local time. Officials tell us the Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
