With George Zimmerman in hiding and out of sight, the man who's become the face of his trial is Mark M. O'Mara, the Criminal and Family Law attorney who has been practicing law in Central Florida for over 28 years.
The circus surrounding Zimmerman and his slew of attorneys ended when O’Mara came on board. Before, we were subjected to bizarre news conferences with Hal Uhrig and Craig Sonner, the first set of lawyers Zimmerman contacted.
O’Mara, on the other hand, portrays a competent confidence and isn’t expecting to lose this case. He’s set up Twitter and Facebook accounts in an effort to weed out all fake and fraudulent sites revolving around his client, he’s fought against a gag order placed on him by State Attorney Angela Corey, and he is collecting all funds for Zimmerman while he remains in hiding, O’Mara is like the white Johnnie Cochran without the clever puns and flashy suits.
Let’s take a closer look at Mark O’Mara, the man heading up of the biggest cases of the year.
