George Zimmerman appeared in a Seminole County courtroom this morning for a bond hearing before Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. The judge granted Zimmerman a bond of $150,000.

After testimony via phone from Zimmerman’s family members and a State Attorney office investigator, the judge has decided to grant Zimmerman bond. He will not be released today, but he might be released in the next 48 hours if the family can come up with the money.

The Judge orders no contact between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin’s family – no guns, no alcohol, and to contact authorities every 3 days.

While in court, George appeared looking very thin with a fresh shave and clean suit. Trayvon Martin‘s parents were also in the courtroom as the bond hearing took place.

George Zimmerman then took the stand to make a statement. George stated,

“I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son. I did not know how old he was, I thought he was a little bit younger than I am and I did not know if he was armed or not.”

The members of Zimmerman’s family who testified were Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie Zimmerman, his father, Robert Zimmerman, and his mother, Gladys Zimmerman.

After his family testified, State Attorney’s office investigator, Dale Gilbreath took the stand.

Zimmerman, faces a second-degree murder charge in the Feb. 26 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
