Amidst the countless protests against George Zimmerman’s acquittal, there are some people who support him and are happy with the decision.
His parents.
Robert and Gladys Zimmerman are speaking out just two days after their son was found “not guilty” in the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Here’s their full statement:
“We thank God that our son has been found not guilty by a jury of his peers. Although we have always known that our son was not guilty, the State of Florida utilized significant resources to conducted a clearly malicious, unfounded prosecution. We sincerely hope that more of the truth will become available and that all responsible will be held fully accountable for their truly egregious actions.
“We would like to thank everyone that has displayed support for George and our family during this extremely difficult time. Your words of encouragement have been lifting. Without a doubt, your prayers for us have been heard and answered. One of the first things I told George when this nightmare started was that I believe God sends his strongest Angels into his most difficult battles.
“In the future, difficult days will continue. There is much that still needs to be accomplished. We would wholeheartedly appreciate your keeping us in your thoughts and in your prayers.
Thank you so very much.”
