The association is known for representing legal gun owners in self-defense shooting cases.

Zimmerman claims that he was attacked by 17-year-old Trayvon Martin after following him on neighborhood watch duties and subsequently shot the unarmed teen in the chest killing him on impact.

Reports have surfaced from multiple sources that defy Zimmerman’s self defense plea, but justice is yet to be served.

Zimmerman is currently in hiding and the associations attorney, Blue Rannefeld, said he has not been able to contact Zimmerman and is now trying to reach Zimmerman’s attorney, Craig Sonner to offer the financial assistance of the group.

It is not uncommon for groups and associations such as The National Association for Legal Gun Defense to want to align their names with cases in the media spotlight, such as this one, to gain personal recognition for their association.
