Several European supermarkets were forced to pull beef products off their shelves after they were found to have tangible amounts of horsemeat and horse DNA inside.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) and the Britain Food Standards Agency determined that beef burgers sold by Tesco, Iceland, Lidl, Aldi, and Dunnes Stores across the UK and Ireland were all offenders, but the companies denied knowing about the horsemeat and vowed to investigate the source.

Really?

Now don’t get too scared, the FSAI confirmed that though unacceptable, the horsemeat doesn’t pose an immediate health risk.
