Because the famous brand, which produces products like Twinkies and Wonder Bread, could not reach a mediation agreement with the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International (BCTGM) Union, they will be forced to liquidate. A New York bankruptcy judge announced today that he will move forward with a "liquidation scenario."  

In turn, Hostess said it will take a few months for the brand to shut down, but it has received strong interest from buyers. In addition, over 18,000 jobs will be lost.  

It's a shame that the era of the famed Twinkies, Ding-Dongs and Ho-Ho's might be near its end!
