VIDEO: Oh No! Florida Man Missing After Massive Sinkhole Opened In His House!

A Florida man who was swallowed up by an unexpected sinkhole in his very own home, has been identified as 37-year-old Jeff Bush. The effort to find his body in the 20-foot wide, 20-feet deep sinkhole has come to an end, as rescuers fear they too will succumb to Bush’s fate.

Crews are scheduled to begin demolishing the four-bedroom house for Sunday. Hillsborough County Administrator Mike Merrill said “At this point it’s really not possible to recover the body. We’re dealing with a very unusual sinkhole.”

Jessica Damico, spokeswoman for Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, has confirmed that heavy equipment will be used for this demolition, which will be placed on what they believe is solid ground. The crew will attempt to pull the house away from the sinkhole in hopes of retrieving heirlooms and memorabilia for the family and friends of Bush.

Neighbors are still feeling shocked and frightened by the incident. Neighbor Soliris Gonzalez said, “In my dreams, I keep checking for cracks in the house. You never know underneath the ground what’s happening.”

The cause of the sinkhole remain unknown, but may be due to the fact that the state sits on limestone, a porous rock, that can easily be dissolved in water.

Our condolences to Bush’s family and friends.
