Jennifer Hudson has officially arrived at the Chicago courthouse for the start of the trial of William Balfour, 30, the accused killer of her mother, brother and nephew.

According to courtroom spokesman Terry Sullivan, Hudson is in the building, but will not be in court for opening statements. However she is among a list of 300 potential witnesses who could be called.
Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister, Julia, is charged with first-degree murder in the 2008 slayings. Prosecutors say Balfour shot them in a jealous rage because his estranged wife, Julia Hudson, had a new boyfriend.
Julia Hudson has said her sister screamed when she told her about the murders.
