Arrested Wednesday night for illegally entering Guatemala with his 20-year-old girlfriend Sam, alleged murder suspect John McAfee had more drama added onto his plate after it was reported he suffered a possible heart attack.
After complaining about chest pains today, McAfee was reportedly found on the floor of his cell, unresponsive.
The news comes after the 67-year-old software millionaire was denied asylum in Guatemala, a move that could get McAfee deported back to Belize. For nearly a month, McAfee has been running from Belizean police after being deemed a "person of interest" in the shooting death of his neighbor, Gregory Faull.
According to ABC News, a judge could reverse the ruling if it is determined that McAfee's life is being threatened in Belizean custody, a serious claim McAfee has been telling press.
McAfee has been relentless in urging the public to support his claims that the Belizean officials are out to kill him. Equipped with a MacPro given to him in the Guatemalan prison, McAfee blogged from his cell, pleading his case.
In a fresh blog post Thursday titled "Urgent from John," McAfee implored supporters to "Please email the President of Guatemala and beg him to allow the court system to proceed, to determine my status in Guatemala."
Raphael Martinez, a spokesman for the Belize government, said that McAfee's deportation to Belize would result in an immediate hand over to police and a detainment for up to 48 hours, unless charges are brought against him.
"There is more that we know about the investigation, but that remains part of the police work," he said, hinting at possible charges.
He added that a handover by Guatemala would be "the neighborly thing to do."
Could all the stress from running and facing both the Belizean and Guatemalan governments have caused his collapse? Stay tuned for developing details.
