9-year-old Josef Miles is our newest hero. The young man stood up to the hate-spewing controversial Westboro Baptists as they protested against President Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage.

STORY: Barack Endorses Same-Sex Marriage

Miles was walking with his mother near Kansas’ Washburn University campus late last week when he spotted the extremist church protesting with signs about God’s hatred of homosexuals and other groups.

His mother told The Topeka Capital-Journal that he asked if he could make his own sign and so he did.

Using a small sketchpad and a pencil, Miles wrote “God Hates No One.”

Miles’ photo bomb has become an internet sensation, making him a hero overnight. In the photo he rocks a pair of shades next to a Westboro protest sign that reads, “God Hates Fags.”

Miles also received praise from church groups and commenters, as a person on Twitter wrote “9 year old Josef Miles wins an awesome kid award.” And we agree.
