Justice For Aiyana Jones: Trigger Happy Detroit Cop Charged With Her Killing (PHOTOS)

Aiyana Stanley Jones, 7, was shot and killed in Detroit on May 16, 2010 after a Detroit Police officer's weapon discharged while executing a search warrant.

Today, Detroit Police Officer Joseph Weekley has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and careless and reckless discharge of a firearm, causing the death of little Aiyana during the home raid.

Also charged on an indictment is a Boston woman, who is being charged with perjury investigative subpoena and obstruction of justice. It's unclear her role, but the assistant prosecutor told the court that she lied during the investigative subpoena, adding seven months onto the investigation into the shooting by Michigan State Police.

They were arraigned before Wayne County Circuit Judge Margie Braxton

Aiyana was shot during a police raid on an east-side Detroit home.

Weekley fatally shot Aiyana on May 16, 2010, when police entered the home searching for a shooting suspect. The police were accompanied by a camera crew filming a reality-style cable TV show.

We have been hoping and praying for the Jones family, who lost their little girl a year and half ago. Finally some justice has come to them.
