Dear National Rifle Association (NRA), here’s another name to add to your endless list of casualties.

DETAILS: SMFH! NRA Sends Pro-Gun Postcards & Robocalls To Newtown Residents

In the midst of numerous gun law debates, protests, and grieving parents hoping to end gun violence, a 42-year-old man committed suicide with one of the many firearms the NRA supports at an NRA sponsored NASCAR race in Texas over the weekend.

Kirk Franklin was found dead from what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound. Franklin’s body was found during the NRA 500 Sprint Cup race at 10:30 p.m in the back seat of a truck.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department’s spokesman Daniel Segura, Franklin was in a verbal altercation with a fellow guest at the NRA event prior to his suicide.

It’s not clear why Franklin ended his life. The police department has not indicated the possibility of foul play, nor has there been any indication of a need for further investigation.

The passing of Kirk Franklin is saddening and unfortunate. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
