Last night, the popular kitchen appliance brand KitchenAid tweeted a crude joke making fun of the President’s deceased grandmother.

During the presidential debates in Denver, President Obama praised his grandmother, who used government entitlements like social security in her journey towards upward mobility. She passed away three days before he was elected President.
Moments after Obama told this touching story, KitchenAid tweeted the following to their 250,000 followers:

KitchenAid also released this statement:
“During the debate tonight, a member of our Twitter team mistakenly posted an offensive tweet from the KitchenAid handle instead of a personal handle. The tasteless joke in no way represents our values at KitchenAid, and that person won’t be tweeting for us anymore. That said, I lead the KitchenAid brand, and I take responsibility for the whole team. I am deeply sorry to President Obama, his family, and the Twitter community for this careless error. Thanks for hearing me out.”
The person that tweeted that offensive joke should be out of a job!
